この夏、空港から車でバンコク市内に入りまず目についたのが
この目に鮮やかなイエローの服を着た人達がバンコク市内におり
平日なのに今日は何か特別なイベント？それとも何かの宗教団体？
どこかの会社の制服？にしては派手だなぁ～。
「でもタイだからなぁ...、今までこんな事なかったよなぁ～」と不思議に思った。
特にこのポロシャツが多く目についた。
早速着いて早々知り合いに「何で黄色のポロシャツを着ている人が多いの？」
と聞いたら
「タイ国王在位60周年記念に発売された物」だと解った。
(このTシャツ、綿シャツなどを着ている人もいるが圧倒的にポロが多い。）
国王の誕生色のイエローの生地に胸に国王の紋章が付いている。
60周年記念式典は確か6月だったはず！
タイ国民の皆さんの王様（王室）に対する敬意と敬愛を改めて感じました。
当初発売された時は500バーツ（日本円で約￥1600位）だったそう。
学校に行ってもスタッフで着ている人が何人もいた。
数日後、教えてくれた知り合いが私にこのポロシャツを届けてくれた。
